The Boston Red Sox already have made a couple moves before Major League Baseball's 4 p.m. EST trade deadline on Monday, and they may not be done.
Catcher Christian Vazquez has reportedly come up in trade discussions over the past few days, and Boston's asking price for the 2018 World Series champion reportedly is "very high."
The Red Sox ask for Christian Vazquez is very high, per league sources. Sounds like Sox and Mets would have to bridge a pretty big gap before 4 to get a deal done.

Red Sox president and CEO Sam Kennedy recently brought up Vazquez when discussing the "core group of players" Boston would like to keep intact moving forward, so it's not surprising that the asking price for the 30-year-old is pretty high.
Vazquez has been a staple in the Boston lineup since 2014. In six seasons with the Red Sox, Vazquez has hit .256 with a .689 OPS. This season, he's batting .252 with 12 RBI, four home runs and a .697 OPS.
He's also solid in the field with a strong arm, and the New York Mets have been rumored to be interested in Vazquez to catch alongside Wilson Ramos.
